Sports Injury Diagnosis to Get you Back in The Game

Sports injuries can be a major setback for athletes of any age. Whether you are a professional or a recreational athlete, a sports injury can keep you from playing the game you love. Fortunately, there are a variety of diagnostic tools available to help diagnose and treat your sports injury. One such therapy is sports massage therapy, which may be helpful in gaining strength back in your injured areas.

At Regain Pain Management, we offer sports injury diagnosis that looks at the mechanics of your body. This type of analysis can help to identify any problems with your body’s movement or alignment that could be causing the injury. By understanding the biomechanics of the body, it helps us to develop a bespoke treatment plan that is tailored to your individual needs.

Once we have identified where your sports injury is, we can move on to rehabilitation. This is an important part of sports injury treatment to help you to recover from your injury and return to the sport you love. Rehabilitation can include:

And other therapies to help you to regain your strength and mobility.

If you would like more information on sports injury diagnosis as part of your physiotherapy, don’t hesitate to contact Regain Pain Management.

Posture Assessments – Identify and Improve Your Posture for Optimal Health and Well-being

Posture Assessments are an important part of any physiotherapy program. They provide information about your posture and can help to identify problems that may be causing pain or discomfort.

Here at Regain Pain Management, our licensed physiotherapist, Deepika, can conduct Posture assessments at our head office in Rodley.

During the assessment, she will look at your posture from the front, back, and sides. Paying particular attention to your range of motion, balance, and flexibility. The assessment will also include an evaluation of your strength, coordination, and endurance. To help determine if there are any muscle imbalances that may be causing your posture to be ‘off’.

As part of the assessment, Deepika will also look your lifestyle and activities to see if there are any factors that may be contributing to poor posture. This includes looking at your diet, exercise habits, and any activities that may be putting strain on the body. So, it may be handy for you to come to your posture assessment with this information, so that we can get started on your physiotherapy treatment plan.

Each physiotherapy treatment plan is tailored to your individual needs. And at Regain Pain Management we pride ourselves on our attention to detail, focusing on your long-term health and wellness goals.

Once your posture assessment is complete, Deepika will create a treatment plan that is tailored to your needs. Which may include exercises, stretches and massage therapy. As well as some potential lifestyle changes. In addition to this, your physiotherapy treatment plan may also include the use of assistive devices, such as braces or supports, to help improve your overall posture.

Get to Know your Body with a Physical Assessment

As part of your physiotherapy, you may need a physical assessment. Think of it like an MOT, where our physiotherapist evaluates your physical capabilities and limitations to identify the best course of treatment and care. A physical assessment can help to determine which therapies and exercises are suitable for you, and whether they need to be modified to fit your needs. This assessment can also provide insight into your overall physical health and well-being.

Here at Regain Pain Management, we want your physiotherapy sessions to be individual to your needs. And a physical assessment can help us to plan for suitable therapy around:

  • Range of motion
  • Strength
  • Flexibility
  • Balance and coordination
  • and posture.

Your physical assessment may also include evaluating your gait and posture and discussing areas of pain or discomfort you may be experiencing.

Don’t wait if you’re in pain. Contact Regain Pain Management to book one of our physiotherapy led services at our head office in Rodley. We cater for clients throughout Rodley, Farsley, Barnsley, Huddersfield, Leeds, Harrogate, Wetherby, Wakefield, Halifax, Denby dale and surrounding areas.

Unlock your Body’s Potential with Muscle Testing at Regain Pain Management

At Regain Pain Management we offer muscle testing at our head office in Rodley. And when it comes to improving the strength and health of your muscles, physiotherapy is a great option.

Muscle testing can be an important part of physiotherapy and can be used to evaluate the strength and flexibility of your muscles. It involves applying pressure to a particular muscle whilst the client resists the pressure. This helps our on-site physiotherapist determine the range of motion and the strength of the muscle.

So, when trying to establish a good physiotherapy plan, muscle testing can be instrumental in helping you reach your fitness goals.

Furthermore, by helping you identify which muscles need to be strengthened, we identify which muscles are weak and therefore need to be stretched. This can help you create an effective exercise or physiotherapy program that focuses on strengthening and stretching the right muscles.

Contact Regain Pain Management today to discuss muscle testing as part of your physiotherapy goals.

Matt Grace – Strength and Rehabilitation Coach

Matt initially completed his Myofascial Release training at the same time as Mathew Jerome. He has since moved on to become one of the best performance rehab coaches in Leeds, Huddersfield, Barnsley, and surrounding areas.

His passion for helping people to function correctly, reducing the chance of injury occurring is what sets him apart from the rest. He also works with clients who have postural/muscular imbalance. Helping to get them back to full strength using a range of exercises and routines that balance the body and get it working at an optimum level again.

Matt started out doing sports massage therapy and Myofascial Release. And whilst he learned a lot from experienced therapists, he always felt like there was something missing. It was his own back injury that led to further research in to biomechanics and movement. And, having suffered from injuries in the past, he knew that there would be others who were frustrated with long periods of convalescence, and being unable to do what he enjoyed the most – exercising!

Matt’s research led him to find some amazing movement-based therapists that helped him to focus on breathing, the pelvis, ribcage and the feet. After which he carried out a self-assessment, looking at his own posture and marking down any alignment issues he found. This enabled him to explore which movements and exercises worked well for him, and what didn’t!

Matt does clinics online, as well as in person. And his treatments work for people of all ages and abilities.

So, when the fascia becomes tight or restricted due to lifestyle, activity, or surgery, it can cause pain, limit mobility, and affect our general health both physically & emotionally. Myofascial release uses gentle pressure to release tension in the fascia, allowing for greater flexibility, range of motion and improve our general wellbeing.

Melanie has trained with dental professionals to gain the best knowledge for what can be an extremely painful & debilitating problem. Melanie uses very gentle techniques to ease the affected temporomandibular joint and surrounding areas, including hips and pelvis as the jaw has a strong correlation to our whole-body movement and gait. TMJ Therapy®️ is ideal for Misalignment, Pain, Headaches, Tinnitus, Stress, Clenching, Teeth Grinding, Jaw Popping & Locking.

    Acupuncture

Very fine needles are gently inserted in the skin at specific points along lines of energy (meridians), thereby stimulating the body’s natural healing process to restore your natural flow of energy and balance. It is used in the treatment of physical and emotional conditions and for Preventative care.

Facial and Auricular Acupuncture / Acupressure
The face & ears are microsystems of the whole body. We can see a person’s health by looking at these areas. By doing acupressure massage or by placing fine needles in specific points, we encourage a better flow of blood, lymph, and energy. Both helping our internal organs, balancing internal health, better body function, relieving stress & also improving facial complexion.

    ScarWork
Gentle movements that help to improve mobility and reduce the appearance of scars. It works on the surface down to the deeper layers of fascia. No matter how old the scar, improvements can be felt & seen.

    Digestive & Gut Health Practitioner
Traditional oil-based massage that just focuses on the abdomen to release twists and torsions in the bowels and balancing the internal organs. By cleansing the digestive system, it creates a fantastic treatment for many stresses, bowel, lower back gynaecological and emotional problems. This has been beneficial to those suffering from IBS, Chron’s & Colitis.

    Korean Hand Therapy
The hands are very closely linked to the brain. KHT is a micro system of the full body’s acupuncture system. By placing small needles, press pellets or magnets to corresponding areas, it can complement another treatment, can be used in an emergency situation or as a stand-alone therapy.

    Massage
Advanced Clinical / Deep Tissue / Sports / Abdominal / Tui Na
Melanie combines different massage styles to provide a bespoke treatment for the clients’ requirements.

    Cupping Therapy
Cupping has been used for centuries across different continents for healing. This involves warm glass jars being applied onto an oiled body as a therapeutic massage system. Kinesio Body taping
Kinesiology tape is a stretchy tape that is applied to the body in different ways to reduce swelling and pain from an injury. It can help to protect an area of the body, increase mobility, and prevent muscle spasms. It is also used with athletes to help them recover at a faster rate as it enables a more effective lymphatic drainage.
